David Aster,
Ph.D., the Principal and driving force of Engaging
Strategies, offers expertise and genuine passion for
helping companies enjoy improved performance and
productivity through engaged learning.
David earned
a doctorate in Educational Psychology
and Instructional Technology from the
University of Southern California (1990), where he
studied with luminaries in the field,
including Richard E. Clark,
M. David
Merrill, and H.F. O’Neill.
From 1987 to
1996, he developed successful learning
programs for organizations including
Apple,
Boeing, Microsoft, Wells Fargo, and
Xerox. He contributed to
developments in
distance learning systems and technologies
while working inside Microsoft from 1996-2003,
including 3 years as E-Learning Training Manager for
the Internal Technical Education Group
(later re-named "Engineering Excellence")
and
in collaborative projects with Microsoft
Research.
More
recently, in 2010, David developed courses for the
U.S. Government
Accountability Office and for BP, including
“Distance Learning Overview” and
“Facilitating Online Collaborative Learning”,
both of which utilizes asynchronous and
synchronous online environments to prepare BP Faculty to use
distance learning tools and techniques. |

Sherry Johnson Metz,
M.B.A.,
brings executive experience,
consulting excellence, and dynamic energy to
Engaging Strategies and our clients.
As Director of Global Leadership Development
for SC Johnson
from 2002 to 2008, Sherry guided
a team of program managers, designers, and
facilitators to create, implement, and
evaluate learning solutions and job aids to
promote leadership capabilities among new
and seasoned managers worldwide.
Her work as an
independent training specialist
and founder
of Lead Forward Consulting has included the
charting and creation of highly interactive face-to-face and distance learning projects
for companies including SC Johnson,
Monsanto, and BP.
She is an
accomplished distance learning facilitator
and continues to teach as a faculty member
at the University of Phoenix School of
Business.
Sherry is also
the current Vice President of Professional
Development for the Puget Sound Chapter of
the American Society for Training and
Development (ASTD), where she organizes
enrichment events and helps local business
leaders achieve accreditation as Certified Professionals in
Learning and Performance (CPLP). |
